My name is Cam Bohorquez and I aspire to help bring change to the world. Having a background in psychology, I have learned to highlight the aesthetics of an image in a unique way, while having a profound appreciation and understanding for human behavior and interaction. After receiving my bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, I chose to explore what videography and photography could offer my life. I felt as though I could learn a great deal more about psychology from being on the field interacting with people, instead of being locked in a lab doing research.

So I took to the streets, the clubs, the bars, the festivals, and basically anywhere people were interacting to capture digital images of. In no time I could see progress in the quality of my work. I started concentrating more on filmmaking as time went on and eventually I was hired for a position as a professional videographer at Forevermore Videography, based out of Champaign, Illinois. This position gave me more experience and confidence behind a camera than I could have ever imagined. It helped me to become more comfortable working with people that I didn’t know and gave me a whole new understanding of what I was capable of creating using professional DSLR cameras. After working as a videographer for several months, I was able to save up enough to upgrade some of my equipment. One of the upgrades I made was buying an external flash, which opened up a whole new door to digital photography for me. I jumped back into photography and soon enough started working gigs capturing photos. Since then I have been able to compile a portfolio of images that I am very proud to call my own.

I continue to practice videography whenever I get a chance and I am currently working on several projects using film. I plan to grow as both a filmmaker and photographer in the coming years, seeing as they go hand in hand. In the following months, I seek being hired for more special events and for some full time photography positions at various establishments. I am very interested in social networking and plan on taking advantage of all the different outlets that are offered. My ultimate goal is to return to school out west to seek a graduate degree in directing and production. I want to take everything I have learned along the way and use it to create narratives, make documentaries, and most of all, inform and share with others the knowledge I have acquired. I shoot photos and videos using a Go Pro HD Hero 2, a Canon 7D and a Canon 5D Mark II. I have access to a variety of lenses for every personalized occasion. I also own numerous accessories to enhance the quality and artistic elements of my digital media. For every editing need, I am proficient in Photoshop, Aperture, Final Cut Pro X, and Motion 5.
